Heated Tobacco Product
For the purpose of this review, we will be using the term “HTP” when referring to a “heated tobacco product.”
Electronic smoking device
Electronic smoking device: a smoking product whose emissions are generated with the aid of a system powered by electricity, battery, or other non-combustible source, which mimics the act of smoking, including:
a) disposable or reusable products;
b) products that use a solid and/or liquid matrix, or others, depending on their construction and design;
c) products composed of a unit that heats one or more matrixes: liquid (with or without nicotine); solid (usually composed of tobacco extract or leaves - crushed, crumbled, cut or whole, or other plants); composed of synthetic substances that reproduce tobacco components, extracts from other plants; essential oils; vitamin complexes; or other substances;
d) products known as electronic cigarettes, e-cigs, electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), electronic non-nicotine delivery systems (ENNDS), e-pod, “pen-drive,” pod, vapes, heated tobacco product (HTP), heat not burn, vaporizers, among others.
The law contains a definition of “electronic smoking device,” which is broad and includes both heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes. This is significant because the law bans all electronic smoking devices.
