Sales Restrictions

A violation of the ban on chewing tobacco or the ban on the sale of single cigarettes is punishable by a fine not exceeding $10,000 BND, imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or both. A second or subsequent offense is subject to a fine not exceeding $20,000 BND, imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year, or both. Products that do not comply with the act are subject to seizure and forfeiture.
A violation of the ban on tobacco vending machine sales is punishable by a fine not exceeding $5,000 BND, and in the case of a second or subsequent offense, a fine not exceeding $10,000 BND. Illegal vending machines are subject to seizure and forfeiture.
Location-based Sales Restrictions
Tobacco sales are not restricted by location; therefore, there are no associated penalties.
Minimum Retail Package Size

Minimum Legal Sales Age
A violation of the minimum legal sales age is punishable by a fine not exceeding $5,000, and in the case of a second or subsequent offense, a fine not exceeding $10,000.
