Sales Restrictions
Although the law prohibits the sale of single cigarettes, the sale of tobacco products by vending machine, and internet sales of tobacco products, there are no associated penalties for violation of these provisions.
Location-based Sales Restrictions
Although the law restricts the sale of tobacco products by location, there are no associated penalties for violation of these provisions.
Minimum Retail Package Size
(e.g., seizure of the product, publication of the violation/violator)
Anyone who sells individual units of tobacco products are subject to a fine of 1,000,000 to 5,000,000 Francs CFA. In case of repeat offenses, the offender may be subject to cancellation of his license or a prohibition on practicing within the territory of Côte d’Ivoire. The relevant jurisdiction will confiscate and destroy products sold illegally.
The law does not include a penalty for the sale of packs with fewer than 20 cigarettes.
Minimum Legal Sales Age

Anyone who sells, or causes to be sold, tobacco products to a minor is subject to imprisonment for a period of one to five years and a fine of 10,000,000 to 100,000,000 francs CFA, or only one of these two punishments. The relevant jurisdiction will confiscate and destroy all products.
