Sales Restrictions

Violations of the ban on sales of single cigarette sticks are subject to a fine of fifty-seven dollars, in addition to confiscation of the product. Natural persons who have received this punishment may ask to have the sanction converted to community service. A repeat violation is subject to a fine of one to ten times the monthly minimum salary, in addition to confiscation of the product and a six-month suspension of the permit issued for the sale of tobacco products.
Violations are classified as "minor," "serious," and "very serious." It is uncertain under what category the law places for a violation of the ban on vending machine sales. Violations for "minor offenses" are subject to a fine of fifty-seven dollars, in addition to confiscation of the product. The punishment for other location-based sales violations is not specified in the law.
