Authorized officers appointed under Sec. 51(1) of the Tobacco Control Regulations 2012
Section 51(1) contains a list of authorized officers appointed by the Minister of Health to enforce the Tobacco Control Decree 2010 and the Tobacco Control Regulations 2012. These officers include: a police officer; a health inspector or sanitary inspector in the service of the Government, the Central Board of Health, the council of a municipality or any local authority; a labor inspector or labor officer within the meaning of section 2 of the Employment Relations Promulgation 2007; an inspector within the meaning of section 5 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1996; an inspector within the meaning of section 4 of the fair Trading Decree 1992; an officer designated by the Minister responsible for iTaukei Affairs; and a gazetted customs officer under section 27 (1) of the Decree as employed by the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority.
Central Board of Health
Any proceeding relating to an offense under the Tobacco Control Decree 2010 or the Tobacco Control Regulations 2012 may be brought by or on behalf of the Central Board of Health, or the Municipality or Local Authority in which the offense occurred.
