Health Warnings/Messages Features
Combined pictorial and text health warnings are required on at least 70% of the front and back surfaces of tobacco product packs and cartons. The Minister of Health has prescribed two warnings in the current series to be displayed simultaneously, appearing on an equal number of packages during the rotation period. Each series of warnings is to be displayed for a period of two years, with a four month transition period during which two series can be displayed.
In addition, the following warning is required to appear on one side panel: "Quitting Smoking Is Possible".
The law meets FCTC Art. 11 and aligns with the FCTC Art. 11 Guidelines with respect to size, format, location, and rotation.
