To align with FCTC Art. 9 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Guidelines, the law should impose clear sanctions for violations.

Analysis

Violations of disclosure requirements are subject to a fine of not less than 200 Omani Riyals and not more than 1,000 Omani Riyals, and/or imprisonment for a term ranging between one week and one month. In the case of a repeat violation, the penalty shall be doubled and the industrial facility or part thereof which produces the commodity subject of the violation, as the case may be, shall be shut down.
