COMMENTS: Law No. 504 of July 8, 2002 is also known as The Audiovisual Law. On the subject of tobacco control, the law prohibits any form of audiovisual commercial communication for tobacco products. The law has been amended several times. The Original Language file contains amendments through January 1, 2016. The English translation contains amendments through November 22, 2009, which includes the current version of the relevant articles, Articles 29(5), 31(7), and 34(4).

COMMENTS: Law No. 349 of June 6, 2002 on Preventing the Consumption of Tobacco Products and Combating Its Effects regulates, among other things, smoking in public places. The law has been amended several times. The provisions related to packaging and labeling were largely replaced by Law No. 201 of 2016.

This Order sets out the size, format, and other requirements for the “combined warning”, which is the text and pictorial warning required on all smoked tobacco products.

The Order amends Order No. 764/2004 to clarify, among other things, that the regulations apply to both unit and outside packaging of tobacco products and that rotation is required.
