Tobacco Product
The definition of “tobacco products” contained in the law aligns with the definition of “tobacco product” contained in FCTC Art. 1(f).
Any product entirely or partly made of the leaf tobacco as a raw material which is manufactured to be used for smoking, sucking, chewing, or snuffing. (FCTC Art. 1(f))
Outside Packaging and Labeling
Labeling: “The combination of information, whether required or not – terms, statements, indications, trademarks, images or figurative signs, having to do with the tobacco product and appearing on all external packaging of the product.”
Marking: “The combination of required information that must appear on all packs and cartons of tobacco products and all forms of external packaging of such products in order to determine their origin.”
Taken together, the definitions of "packaging," “labeling” and "marking" encompass all forms of outside packaging and labeling used in the retail sale of tobacco products. Therefore, the definitions together align with the definition of "outside packaging and labeling" provided in FCTC Art. 11(4).
