Violators of the ban on vending machine sales or the ban on smokeless tobacco products are subject to a fine not exceeding two thousand rupees, imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year, or both such fine and imprisonment.

Violators of the ban on internet sales are subject to the same penalties imposed for violations of the ban on advertising, which is a fine not exceeding two million rupees.

Under Ministry of Education Circular No. 20/2020, which prohibits sales in educational facilities, violations are to be reported to the police, with a copy of the policy complaint or a comprehensive report forwarded to the Secretary of the Ministry of Education in order to "take suitable action." However, the specific penalties to be applied in the response to a violation are not specified.

The law does not regulate the minimum size of tobacco product packages; therefore, there are no associated penalties.

Violations of the ban on sales to persons below the age of 21 are punishable by a fine not exceeding four thousand rupees, imprisonment for a period not exceeding one year, or both such fine and imprisonment.
