Analysis

The Ministry of Health has not yet enacted content regulations. Once enacted, violations of these regulations will be punishable by a fine of 50,000,000 to 100,000,000 Francs CFA, and non-compliant products may be confiscated and destroyed. Repeat violations will be punishable by double the initial penalty.

To align with FCTC Art. 9 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines, the law should regulate the contents of tobacco products. The law aligns with FCTC Art. 9 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines in that it establishes sanctions for content regulation violations.
