COMMENTS: The Organic Law for the Regulation and Control of Tobacco governs numerous aspects of tobacco control, including prohibitions on smoking; tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship; and tobacco packaging and labeling. It repeals and replaces the Organic Law Amending the Organic Law of Consumer Protection, which previously governed many aspects of tobacco control.

COMMENTS: The Regulation to the Tobacco Regulation and Control Act, No. 1047 was issued under the Organic Law for the Regulation and Control of Tobacco. The Regulation implements provisions of the Organic Law on smoke free environments and tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship.

COMMENTS: The Manual for the Implementation of Health Warnings on Tobacco Product Packaging was published by the Ministry of Public Health in March 2012. The manual contains detailed guidance on the prescribed health warnings, addressing topics such as content and placement.

COMMENTS: Ministry of Public Health Decision No. 407 on Approved Health Warnings defines the first round of six health warnings for packs and other tobacco product packaging.
