Sales Restrictions
(e.g., seizure of the product, publication of the violation/violator)
For natural persons, violations of sales restrictions are punishable on summary conviction by a fine of 200,000 dollars and imprisonment for three months. For corporations, violations of sales restrictions are punishable by a fine of two million dollars.
In addition, the law requires that any vending machine containing tobacco products be confiscated.
Location-based Sales Restrictions
For natural persons, violations of location-based sales restrictions are punishable on summary conviction by a fine of 200,000 dollars and imprisonment for three months. For corporations, violations of location-based sales restrictions are punishable by a fine of two million dollars.
Minimum Retail Package Size
For natural persons, violations of the minimum retail package size are punishable on summary conviction by a fine of 200,000 dollars and imprisonment for three months. For corporations, violations of the minimum retail package size are punishable by a fine of nine million dollars.
Minimum Legal Sales Age
For natural persons, violations of the ban on sales to persons below the age of 18 are punishable on summary conviction by a fine of 200,000 dollars and imprisonment for three months. For corporations, violations of the ban on sales to persons below the age of 18 are punishable by a fine of two million dollars.
