Enforcement Authorities
Ministry of Health
Directive No. 1 imposes a duty on the Ministry of Health to "monitor compliance" with the smoking ban in the public places specified in Arts. 4(II) and (IV) of the Act. These places include theaters, cinemas, hotels, clubs, restaurants, meeting and event rooms, business offices, commercial markets, and petrol stations.
Ministry of Interior
The Ministry of the Interior is responsible for ensuring compliance with the smoking ban in all means of public transport.
Ministry of Education
The Ministry of Education is responsible for ensuring that its education authorities monitor compliance with the ban on smoking in schools, institutes, and colleges.
Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is responsible for ensuring that persons working in institutes and colleges comply with the ban on smoking in these places.
Ministry of Youth and Sports
The Ministry of Youth and Sports is tasked with ensuring compliance with the ban on smoking in sports facilities and youth centers. However, it is uncertain to what extent smoking is prohibited in these places under the law.
