Post signs
Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs are required to post no-smoking signs in places where smoking is prohibited. Signage requirements, including templates, are contained in Ministry of Health Order No. 57/2022.
Violations are punishable by a fine of 50 standard units on natural persons and 500 standard units on legal entities.
The law aligns with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines with respect to the duty to post signs. To more fully align, the law should provide for increasing fines for repeated violations and license suspension or revocation.
Remove ashtrays
It is prohibited to place ashtrays in places where smoking is prohibited. Violations are punishable by a fine of 50 standard units on natural persons and 500 standard units on legal entities.

Steps to require a person to stop smoking (e.g., warn, discontinue service, call authorities)
Legal entities and individuals are required to take measures to enforce no-smoking requirements. However, penalties for violation of this duty are uncertain.
The law aligns with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines with respect to the duty to enforce no-smoking requirements. To more fully align, the law should provide for a specific penalty for violation of this duty, including increasing fines for repeated violations and license suspension or revocation.
Not to smoke where prohibited
Individuals who smoke where smoking is prohibited are subject to a fine of one to three calculation indexes.
The law aligns with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines with respect to the duty to not smoke where prohibited. To more fully align, the law should provide for increasing fines for repeated violations.
