Disclosure Requirements
Disclosure by manufacturers and importers of cigarettes to government authorities of information on the contents and/or ingredients used in the manufacture of their cigarettes
Ministry of Public Health
Law No. 2006-12, Art. 5, requires manufacturers and importers to submit information on tobacco products and emissions, in accordance with regulations issued by the Minister of Public Health. The regulations detailing the specific requirements of such disclosure have not yet been issued. Thus, it is uncertain whether "information required by regulations on the product" will include information on contents and/or ingredients. Until further details are issued, the regulatory status code "Not Required" is given.
To align with FCTC Art. 10 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines, the regulations should specify that manufacturers and importers must disclose to government authorities information on the contents and/or ingredients used in the manufacture of their cigarettes.
