Analysis

The law requires "owners of product trademarks" (this is interpreted to mean manufacturers) to "submit an annual list of the ingredients of their products available for consumption in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The owners of these products must also notify the GCC Standardization Organization of any change in the ingredients of any product within three months of such a change."

The law aligns with FCTC Art. 10 and the FCTC Arts. 9 & 10 Partial Guidelines in that it requires disclosure by manufacturers and importers to government authorities of information on the contents and/or ingredients used in the manufacture of their cigarettes.
