The law requires that one main text warning occupy at least 30% of the front and an additional text warning occupy at least 30% of the back principal display area of tobacco product packaging. Currently, there are three main text warnings and eight additional text warnings prescribed. However, the technical regulations do not specify how these warnings are to be rotated.

For pipe tobacco and other smoking tobacco in transparent packaging, the main warning must be placed on the insert paper and occupy at least 30% of the surface.

The current law meets FCTC Art. 11 in that it requires health warnings to cover at a minimum 30% of both sides of cigarette packages. To more fully align with FCTC Art. 11 and the FCTC Art. 11 Guidelines, health warnings should cover 50% or more of the principal display areas and warnings should consist of both text and pictures or pictorial messages.

Armenia, as part of the Eurasian Economic Union, has adopted stricter regulations on tobacco product packaging and labeling which will require pictorial health warning labels on 50% of two principal display areas. The required health warnings and images must appear on all tobacco product packages for retail sale in Armenia by January 1, 2024.

Chewing tobacco products are prohibited in Armenia.

The law requires that one main text warning occupy at least 30% of the front and an additional text warning occupy at least 30% of the back principal display area of tobacco product packaging. Currently, there are three main text warnings and eight additional text warnings prescribed. However, the technical regulations do not specify how these warnings are to be rotated.

In addition, the content of the health warnings for smokeless tobacco products should address the specific dangers of smokeless tobacco.

The Eurasian Economic Union's Technical Regulations for Tobacco Products do not apply to smokeless tobacco products.
