Smoke Free Status of Indoor Public Places, Workplaces, and Public Transport
All indoor workplaces
The law prohibits smoking in public places. The definition of “public place” includes any “place . . . building . . . work place or other structure that is fully or substantially enclosed.” Therefore, smoking is prohibited in workplaces.
The law aligns with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines with respect to all indoor workplaces.
All indoor public places
The law prohibits smoking in all public places. The definition of “public place” includes any “place . . . building . . . work place or other structure that is fully or substantially enclosed.”

All public transport
The law prohibits smoking in public places. The definition of “public place” includes structures that are “fully or substantially enclosed,” and the definition of “substantially enclosed” includes structures that are “covered by a permanent or temporary roof or covering” and have “doors, windows or openings in the walls or other erections.” Therefore, the law is interpreted as banning smoking in all public transport.

Government facilities

Non-residential healthcare facilities

Restaurants
