Post signs
Schools, universities and Ministry buildings are required to ensure compliance with provisions of the smoke free circulars. Additionally, schools must have no-smoking signs posted. However, the law does not specifically require anyone to post signs. To align with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines, the law should require business owners and managers to post “No Smoking” signs.
Remove ashtrays
There is no duty imposed on owners, employers, or supervisors to remove ashtrays. To align with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines, the law should require business owners, employers, and supervisors to remove ashtrays in all indoor public places, workplaces and public transport.
Steps to require a person to stop smoking (e.g., warn, discontinue service, call authorities)
The law does not require a business owner, employer, or supervisor to take steps to require a person to stop smoking. To align with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines, the law should impose a duty on a business owner, employer, or supervisor to take such steps.
