E-Cigarette
“Electronic cigarette” means a product that can be used for inhaling nicotine-containing vapour via a mouthpiece, or any component of that product.
For the purpose of this review, we will be using the term “e-cigarette” when referring to an “electronic cigarette.”
Nicotine-containing liquid
“Nicotine-containing liquid” means a liquid that contains nicotine, is intended for vaporisation by means of an electronic cigarette, does not contain nicotine in excess of 20 milligrams per millilitre and is not intended for a purpose referred to in section 3(1) of the Medicines Act (395/1987).
For the purpose of this review, we will be using the term “e-liquid” when referring to a “nicotine-containing liquid.”
Nicotine-free liquid intended for vaporization
“Nicotine-free liquid intended for vaporization” means a liquid other than nicotine-containing liquid that is intended for vaporisation by means of an electronic cigarette or a similar method.
Refill container
“Refill container” means a receptacle that contains a nicotine-containing liquid, which can be used to refill an electronic cigarette.
Nicotine cartridge
“Nicotine cartridge” means a replaceable part of an electronic cigarette that contains a nicotine-containing liquid.
Ingredient
“Ingredient” means tobacco, an additive, as well as any substance or element present in a finished tobacco product or related products.
Includes tobacco, components (e.g. paper, filter), including materials used to manufacture those components, additives, processing aids, residual substances found in tobacco (following storage and processing), and substances that migrate from the packaging material into the product (contaminants are not part of the ingredients). Additive
“Additive” means a substance, other than tobacco, that is added to a tobacco product, a unit packet or to any outside packaging; as regards nicotine containing liquids, additive means a substance, other than nicotine, that is added to a nicotine-containing liquid, a unit packet or to any outside packaging.
Characterising flavour or aroma
“Characterising flavour or aroma” means a smell or taste other than one of tobacco, resulting from an additive or a combination of additives, which is clearly noticeable in a tobacco product, nicotine-containing liquid or nicotine free liquid intended for vaporisation before or during its consumption.
Emissions
“Emissions” mean substances that are released when a tobacco or related product is consumed as intended.
