Heated Tobacco Product
For the purpose of this review, we will be using the term “HTP” when referring to a “heated tobacco product.”
Tobacco products
“Tobacco products” mean products that are completely or partly manufactured from the tobacco leaf and/or other parts of the tobacco plant as raw material prepared for use in the form of smoking, sucking, chewing, snorting or other methods of consumption, including with the aid of a system for heating tobacco or some other device.
The law includes tobacco inserts in the definition of “tobacco products.”
For the purpose of this review, we will be using the term “HTP” when referring to a “heated tobacco product.”
System for heating tobacco
“System for heating tobacco” is a device used for heating tobacco to produce an aerosol containing nicotine.
The law defines devices as “systems for heating tobacco.”
For the purpose of this review, we will be using the term “HTP” when referring to a “heated tobacco product.”
Tobacco product consumption
“Tobacco product consumption” means the process of consuming a tobacco product, hookah blend or tobacco for a hookah pipe, including the use of a hookah pipe and tobacco heating systems and any other systems of consumption causing the human body to acquire a dependency to nicotine, negatively impacting a person's health, as well as the health of persons not using tobacco products, and contaminating the environment.
Tobacco sponsorship
“Tobacco sponsorship” means any type of contribution to any event, undertaking or separate entity with the goal, result, or probable result of stimulating the sale of a tobacco product or tobacco consumption directly or indirectly, with the exception of payments and fees provided for by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The definition of “tobacco sponsorship” is relevant to the application of HTP sponsorship restrictions.
Advertising
“Advertising” means information disseminated and/or placed in any form using any means and intended for an indeterminate group of people and called upon to generate and maintain interest toward a physical or legal entity, goods, trademarks, labor, or services and to promote their realization.
The definition of “advertising” is relevant to the application of HTP advertising restrictions.
