Sales Restrictions
(e.g., seizure of the product, publication of the violation/violator)
A person who violates the prohibition on the sale of single cigarettes and sales via the internet shall be subject to a fine of not less than N200,000.00 or a term of imprisonment of not less than one year, or both. In the case of a corporate entity, the fine is not less than N400,000.00. In addition, the non-conforming tobacco products shall be subject to confiscation and forfeiture.
Location-based Sales Restrictions
There are no location-based sales restrictions; therefore, there are no associated penalties.
Minimum Retail Package Size

A person who violates provisions on minimum retail package size shall be subject to a fine of not less than N200,000.00 or a term of imprisonment of not less than one year, or both. In the case of a corporate entity, the fine is not less than N400,000.00. In addition, the non-conforming tobacco products shall be subject to confiscation and forfeiture.
Minimum Legal Sales Age
A person who violates provisions on minimum legal sales age shall be subject to a fine of not less than N200,000.00 or a term of imprisonment of not less than one year, or both. In the case of a corporate entity, the fine is not less than N400,000.00.
