Tobacco Sponsorship
Tobacco sponsorship: Any form of contribution to any event, activity or individual with the aim, effect or likely effect of promoting a tobacco product or tobacco use either directly or indirectly.
The law uses the definition of “tobacco sponsorship” contained FCTC Art. 1(g).

Tobacco Advertising and Promotion
Tobacco advertising or - promotion: Any form of commercial communication, recommendation or action with the aim, effect or likely effect of promoting a tobacco product or tobacco use either directly or indirectly.
The law uses the definition of “tobacco advertising and promotion” used in FCTC Art. 1(c).

Tobacco Product
Tobacco and/or tobacco products: Products entirely or partly made of tobacco leaves as raw material and which are manufactured to be used for smoking, sucking, chewing or snuffing.
The law uses the definition of “tobacco product” provided in FCTC Art. 1(f).
Any product entirely or partly made of the leaf tobacco as a raw material which is manufactured to be used for smoking, sucking, chewing, or snuffing. (FCTC Art. 1(f))
Tobacco Brand Element
Tobacco brand element: Brandname, trademark, trade name, clear characteristic, logo, graphical shape, design, slogan, symbol, motto, selling message, letterpress, letter type, recognizable color or color pattern.
The definition of “tobacco brand element” is significant because the law uses the term in prohibiting certain means of tobacco advertising and promotion.
Tobacco Selling Point
Tobacco selling point: Any place where tobacco and/or tobacco products are present, in order to sell, let sell or to provide other than for free.
The definition of “tobacco selling point” is significant because the law prohibits certain activities at selling points.
