The Consumer Protection Board issued an order on HTPs. Therefore, HTPs are subject to Consumer Protection Board Order No. 9/2015 on Prohibition of Sales and Service of Hookahs, Electronic Hookahs, and Electronic Cigarettes, Smoking Materials for Hookahs, and Liquids for Filling Electronic Hookahs and Electronic Cigarettes, which provides definitions for key terms and bans the import and sale of e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquids, which are considered by regulators to encompass HTPs.
Further, the Ministry of Commerce also issued a notification on HTPs. Therefore, HTPs are also subject to the Notification of the Ministry of Commerce on Prohibition of Importing Hookah, Electronic Hookah, or Electronic Cigarettes into Thailand, which bans the import and sale of e-cigarettes and e-cigarette liquids, which are considered by regulators to encompass HTPs.
