Post signs
The law requires those in charge of institutions and organizations to post signs on the prohibition or restrictions on smoking. The 2020 Amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code impose a fine of 100 minimum wages for failure to post signs. A repeat violation within three months is subject to double the fine.
The law aligns with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines with respect to the duty to post no-smoking signs.
Remove ashtrays
The law does not impose a duty upon business owners, employers, or supervisors to remove ashtrays.

Steps to require a person to stop smoking (e.g., warn, discontinue service, call authorities)
The law does not specifically impose upon business owners, employers, or supervisors a duty to take steps to require a person to stop smoking.

Not to smoke where prohibited
The 2020 Amendments to the Administrative Offenses Code impose a fine of 50 minimum wages upon smokers who smoke in indoor or outdoor places where smoking is prohibited. A repeat offense is subject to double the fine.
Smoking in air, surface electric, water, or rail public transport (except in designated areas) is subject to a fine of 50 minimum wages. Smoking in “general use vehicles” or taxis is subject to a fine of 20 minimum wages, and the driver shall be fined one penalty point.
Smoking by the driver of a private vehicle that is in the process of moving is subject to a fine of 10 minimum wages.
The law aligns with FCTC Art. 8 and the FCTC Art. 8 Guidelines with respect to imposing a duty on smokers not to smoke where prohibited.
